CHAIRMAN MICHAEL F. DUFFY
NOMINATED FOR A SECOND TERM

The President has announced that he intends to nominate Michael F. Duffy, of the District of Columbia, to be a Member of the Federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission, for an additional six-year term expiring August 30, 2012. Mr. Duffy has served as Chairman of the Commission since February 2003. Prior to this, he served as Deputy General Counsel of the National Mining Association. Earlier in his career, he served as Counsel to the Chairman of the Federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission. Mr. Duffy received his bachelor=s degree from Catholic University of America and received his JD from George Washington University.

The Federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission is an independent adjudicative agency that provides administrative trial and appellate review of legal disputes arising under the Federal Mine Safety and Health Act of 1977, as amended.
